Job Description
The Seasonal HEO operates basic heavy equipment such as loaders, dozers, and excavators safely under supervision. High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) required. Strong commitment to safety and quality standards. Strong attention to detail. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work outdoors in all seasons, climb stairs and ladders, and work from elevated platforms. Ability to use hand tools such as shovels, hammers, and wrenches. Ability to work independently with a high degree of autonomy. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to adapt to changing work environments and priorities. Ability to work a flexible schedule. Reliable attendance record. Valid driver's license preferred. Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) knowledge preferred. Forklift experience preferred. Computer software experience preferred. Warehouse experience preferred. Operate heavy equipment to excavate and move diatomaceous earth, dirt, rock, sand, and other raw materials. Move machines and create/manage stockpiles. Dig, lift, swing, and dump materials into trucks, conveyors, hoppers, or stockpiles. Safely operate equipment while following all traffic and safety regulations on and off company property. Maintain radio or phone communication with supervisors to receive instructions. Inspect equipment before, during, and after shifts and report equipment condition. Check equipment components such as tires, lights, brakes, fuel, oil, and water. Perform routine equipment maintenance, fueling, and lubrication. Assist with minor roadside or operational repairs when necessary. Keep equipment clean, organized, and in good working condition. Follow all federal, state, and company safety policies and environmental regulations. Promote safe work practices and support the company's Behavior-Based Safety program. Operate automated and manual packaging systems and palletizers. Inspect packaging for defects and verify proper labeling and materials. Lead and train production crew members, assign tasks, and monitor performance. Record bag weights, manage packaging inventory, and handle non-conforming products. Operate mobile equipment such as forklifts, skid steers, and sweepers. Maintain clean and organized work areas and assist with plant cleanup. Support mill operations and assist with bulk car preparation. Complete production documentation and troubleshoot equipment issues. Assist with special projects and perform additional duties as assigned.
