Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Heavy Construction Equipment Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy machinery and industrial equipment used in construction, agriculture, and related industries. This role requires strong mechanical skills, familiarity with OEM parts, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment to ensure equipment operates safely and reliably. The position offers an excellent opportunity for a skilled mechanic to apply their expertise in a dynamic setting with diverse equipment types. Responsibilities Diagnose and repair heavy construction equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, bulldozers, and other industrial machinery. Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, filter replacements, and inspections to prevent breakdowns. Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical issues. Repair or replace transmissions, brakes, suspensions, hydraulics, and air brake systems on various equipment. Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding, soldering, and hand tools. Conduct alignment procedures and perform diagnostics on diesel engines and HVAC systems. Service tractor-trailers and farm machinery when required. Maintain detailed service records of repairs performed using OEM specifications. Operate power tools safely to complete repairs efficiently while adhering to safety protocols. Assist in the assembly of new equipment or components as required. Support heavy lifting tasks and tire service activities in the field or shop environment. Qualifications Proven experience as a Heavy Construction Equipment Mechanic or Service Technician with dealership experience preferred. Strong knowledge of Caterpillar, OEM parts, and heavy machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and farm equipment. Proficiency in reading schematics and electrical diagrams for troubleshooting complex systems. Skilled in welding, fabrication, hydraulics, transmissions, air brakes, suspension systems, and diesel engine repair. Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and perform heavy lifting tasks when necessary. Familiarity with automotive diagnostics, vehicle maintenance, tire service, HVAC systems, and power tools. Mechanical knowledge combined with excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high safety standards. Valid driver's license with clean driving record preferred; ability to travel between job sites may be required.
