Job Description
Overview Cobb's Glen Country Club is seeking a dependable and experienced Heavy Equipment / Golf Course Equipment Mechanic to oversee the maintenance, repair, and preventative care of golf course maintenance equipment and related machinery. This position plays a vital role in ensuring the golf course maintenance operation runs efficiently and safely on a daily basis. The ideal candidate will have experience working on diesel and gasoline engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and turf maintenance equipment. Golf course equipment experience is preferred but not required for candidates with strong heavy equipment mechanical backgrounds. Responsibilities Diagnose, repair, and maintain golf course maintenance equipment, utility vehicles, tractors, mowers, and small engines Perform preventative maintenance and maintain service schedules for all equipment Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, diesel, and gasoline engine issues Maintain accurate repair and maintenance records Ensure equipment remains in safe operating condition Manage parts inventory and coordinate ordering of necessary supplies and replacement parts Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workshop environment Assist golf course maintenance staff with operational support when needed Respond to emergency repair needs to minimize downtime Qualifications Experience as a mechanic for heavy equipment, agricultural equipment, turf equipment, or golf course maintenance equipment Strong understanding of diesel and gasoline engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems Welding and fabrication experience is a plus Ability to diagnose mechanical issues efficiently Valid driver's license required Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in varying outdoor conditions Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail Preferred Qualifications Golf course equipment maintenance experience Experience with Toro, John Deere, Jacobsen, or similar turf equipment Small engine certification or related technical training Pay will be based on experience and qualifications
