Installation Technician

Service technicians must have an excellent technical and working knowledge of the specific hardware and devices they're tasked with installing and maintaining. Travel and overnight work required. Company vehicle provided for all work-related travel. Valid driver's license mandatory. Qualified service technicians are required to ensure that the hardware they're responsible for servicing or repairing is kept in good working order and is correctly diagnosed.

The skills and qualifications are:

Knowledge of how to maintain, repair, diagnose and correctly install or replace equipment and machinery Firm technical knowledge of blueprints, diagrams, mechanical engineering schematics and electrical diagrams Excellent communication skills that allow them to explain technical problems to laypeople Strong knowledge about their industry and the general requirements of different equipment types Precise written communication abilities for filing repair, installation and maintenance reports Physical stamina in the handling of complex tools and heavy equipment and moving through confined spaces Ability to work with minimal supervision while using their own technical judgment regarding complex tasks Travel and overnight work required. Responsibilities Read blueprints/instructions and examine surfaces to determine the kind and amount of work necessary Make on-site preparations such as covering fixtures etc. Fill cracks and holes with appropriate material Mix paint and other materials to prepare the right color or texture Apply varnish and other finishes Take and adhere to all health and safety precautions
