Knoxville, TN About Acadia Acadia is a growing landscape design-build, pool construction, maintenance, and real estate company serving East Tennessee. We operate a diverse fleet of trucks, trailers, landscape equipment, construction equipment, and pool construction machinery and are seeking a skilled mechanic to help keep our operations running efficiently. Position Summary The Equipment Mechanic is responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing a wide variety of landscape, construction, and fleet equipment. This position plays a critical role in minimizing downtime and ensuring equipment is safe, reliable, and ready for daily operations. Unlike many mechanic positions, this role offers significant variety. When equipment maintenance and repair work is caught up, team members assist with deliveries, landscape supply operations, equipment transportation, and heavy equipment operation. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with their hands and wants a mix of mechanical work, trucking, logistics, and equipment operation rather than spending every day in a repair shop. Responsibilities Diagnose, maintain, and repair a wide range of landscape, construction, and fleet equipment. Perform preventative maintenance on pickup trucks, dump trucks, trailers, skid steers, mini excavators, compact equipment, chainsaws, trimmers, blowers, and small engines. Conduct routine oil changes, fluid services, and equipment inspections. Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, fuel, and mechanical systems. Maintain accurate equipment maintenance records. Coordinate repair priorities with field supervisors and operations staff. Order and manage parts inventory as needed. Respond to occasional field service calls for equipment breakdowns on job sites. Assist with landscape supply operations, material loading, and deliveries when required. Transport equipment and materials between job sites and company facilities. Operate skid steers, excavators, loaders, and other equipment as needed. Maintain a clean and organized shop environment. Qualifications 3+ years of mechanical experience preferred. Ability to efficiently and independently diagnose equipment issues. Welding and fabrication experience is a plus. Valid drivers license required. CDL is a plus but not required. Experience operating heavy equipment is a plus. Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in both shop and outdoor environments. Self-motivated, dependable, and able to prioritize repairs based on operational needs. Strong troubleshooting skills and pride in workmanship. Organized, detail-oriented, and a positive team player. Willingness to assist in various roles to support the team as needed. Compensation Competitive hourly pay based on experience ($25$40+ per hour). This is a full-time position with overtime opportunities.
