Job Description

Position Description:
Demo Plus Group is seeking an experienced Field Service Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic to perform on-site diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on construction equipment in the field. This role requires a self-motivated technician who can work independently, troubleshoot efficiently, and provide excellent customer service in the field. Demo Plus Group is a specialty site-work contractor performing earthwork, demolition, and utilities in the Nashville, Tennessee area. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform preventative maintenance and emergency repairs on diesel-powered construction equipment and trucks Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment, clean, lubricate, and refill the equipment, as necessary Performs routine preventative maintenance, including oil changes, tire rotations, tune-ups, and inspections Check vehicle lighting Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, engine, transmission, and DEF/emissions systems Repair and maintain equipment including excavators, loaders, dozers, skid steers, graders, cranes, rollers, dump trucks, and haul trucks Perform major repair work when necessary Monitor, inspect, and maintain equipment to ensure optimal operation Identify and address problems or defects Use diagnostic software, scan tools, and service manuals Complete service reports, work orders, and parts documentation accurately Communicate repair status and recommendations with management Report damaged or faulty equipment to management Maintain service truck inventory, tools, and cleanliness Follow all company and OSHA safety procedures
QUALIFICATIONS
2+ years of heavy equipment or diesel mechanic experience Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems Experience with CAT, Komatsu, John Deere, Volvo, Case, Hitachi or semilar equipment preferred Ability to diagnose and repair equipment independently in the field Valid drivers license required; CDL preferred Strong problem-solving and time-management skills Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions Welding and fabrication experience a plus Pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
