OBJECTIVE
To repair and maintain county equipment in good order.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
1.
Reports to:
County Road Superintendent 2.
Directs:
Mechanic I GENERAL
STATEMENT OF DUTIES
Repair and service all county Road and Bridge department vehicles and heavy construction equipment. Also service and repair other county department vehicles when required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES
(may include but not limited to): Maintain inventory of shop equipment; Schedule preventive maintenance on heavy construction equipment; Repair and service county vehicles and heavy construction equipment; Road calls, repairing vehicles or heavy equipment at construction sites and/or shop; Fabrication work required for the repair and maintenance of equipment; Welding; Lift 25-50lbs frequently and 50-100lbs occasionally; Regular attendance required; Perform other duties as may be assigned by supervisor.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
General mechanical knowledge; Communication skills, both oral and written; Basic computer skills; Basic math skills.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to lift 25-50lbs frequently and 50-100lbs occasionally

Frequent lifting, standing, walking, carrying, twisting, climbing, driving, and occasional repetitive use of foot controls; Work and drive in all types of weather conditions as well as perform manual labor when required; Work on-call and overtime when required; Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this job.
CERTIFICATE AND LICENSES REQUIRED
High School Diploma or GED equivalent The Bandera County Road & Bridge Dept. is accepting applications a for Full-Time Mechanic II. Applicants must be able to (but not limited to) Repair and service county vehicles and heavy construction equipment, perform road calls, repair vehicles or heavy equipment at construction sites and/or shop, perform welding tasks, order and pickup parts from dealers or retail stores, and clean or power wash construction equipment as required. Be able to lift up to 50 LBS frequently. Position requires frequent lifting, standing, walking, carrying, twisting, climbing, driving, and occasional repetitive use of foot controls.
