Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Master Mechanic to work in our auto-shop and lead our maintenance and repair operations across a diverse range of heavy equipment and vehicles. In this vital role, you will leverage your extensive mechanical expertise to diagnose, repair, and maintain machinery, ensuring optimal performance and safety. Your leadership will help keep our fleet and equipment running smoothly, supporting our commitment to operational excellence. This position offers an exciting opportunity for experienced mechanics eager to take on a leadership role in a dynamic environment. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on heavy machinery including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm equipment using schematics and technical manuals. Conduct maintenance and repairs on Asian and American built engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, brakes, shocks & struts, air brakes, and HVAC systems. Fabricate custom parts or modifications using welding, soldering, power tools, and hand tools to meet specific operational needs. Oversee the inspection and servicing of vehicle systems such as electrical wiring, alignment, tire service, and vehicle maintenance to ensure safety compliance. Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex mechanical issues involving Caterpillar or other industrial equipment; interpret schematics for accurate repairs. Supervise heavy lifting operations safely while maintaining adherence to safety protocols; assist with assembly and equipment repair projects. Provide mentorship and guidance to junior technicians; ensure all work complies with industry standards and safety regulations. Requirements Proven mechanic experience with a strong background in dealership settings or heavy equipment service. Extensive knowledge of automotive diagnostics, electrical systems, transmissions, hydraulics, HVAC systems, and diesel engine repair. Skilled in fabrication techniques including welding and soldering; proficient with power tools and hand tools. Ability to read and interpret schematics accurately; experience working with Caterpillar machinery or similar brands is preferred. Demonstrated ability to perform heavy lifting safely; experience with tire service and suspension repairs is advantageous. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients or team members. Certifications related to automotive repair, air brake systems, or heavy equipment operation are highly desirable.
