About the Role As a Mobile Diesel Fleet Specialist, you will serve as a technical authority for complex mechanical repairs, ensuring that critical machinery and heavy-duty fleets remain operational in the field. You will leverage your expertise in advanced diagnostics and engine systems to solve intricate problems while mentoring team members to elevate overall service standards. Responsibilities Execute comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on heavy-duty diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and complex electrical architectures including CAN bus and ECM integration. Perform high-level engine rebuilds and overhauls, focusing on long-term equipment reliability and peak performance. Utilize sophisticated diagnostic software and technical manuals to resolve challenging mechanical failures efficiently. Provide technical guidance and on-the-job training to junior staff to foster a high-performance shop culture. Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, translating complex technical issues into clear, actionable service recommendations. Maintain precise documentation of all service activities to ensure compliance with safety protocols and operational standards. Operate specialized field equipment and cranes to facilitate safe and effective maintenance operations. Qualifications Required Skills High school diploma or GED equivalent. 5+ years of hands-on experience in heavy equipment or diesel engine maintenance. Advanced proficiency in troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems. Ability to provide a comprehensive set of professional-grade tools. Valid driver's license with the ability to operate service vehicles independently. Physical capability to lift 50+ pounds and work in diverse indoor and outdoor environments. Preferred Skills ASE Master Diesel Technician certification or multiple T-series certifications. Prior experience in a lead technician, supervisory, or shop management capacity. Demonstrated success in mobile field service environments. Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on project leadership and customer satisfaction.
