Responsibilities The Hydraulic Repair Technician at Hose of South Texas Powered by TIPCO is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and testing heavy hydraulic cylinders, pumps, and related equipment to meet customer specifications. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is reliable, self-motivated, and committed to delivering high-quality work while strictly adhering to safety standards and company procedures. Properly maintains company supplied P.P.E. and Equipment. Ensures work assignments are carried out to the highest quality level. Completes daily assigned tasks by immediate supervisor with little to no supervision. Makes the necessary repairs to a variety of heavy hydraulic cylinders, pumps, equipment, etc. Performs the tracing and locating of defects which cause hydraulic and other major systems to fail or not perform up to specifications regarding power output, lifting capacity, speed, and pressure. Identifies cause of malfunctions and makes the necessary repairs to the hydraulic equipment as necessary. Measures, fits, and installs components, such as pistons, valves, bearings, seals, rings, and cylinders to specified clearances, as per O.E.M. Performs and completes the required function and final performance testing of equipment (i.e., synchronize remote or manual electrical and hydraulic controls) before releasing the equipment back to the customer. Performs various clean-up and housekeeping activities, to include but not limited to, hydraulic repair department interior and exterior areas. Promotes positive forward thinking amongst his/her peers within the company. Ensures work assignments are carried out to the highest quality level. Performs his/her job duties with little to no supervision. Performs other duties and activities as assigned by management within the physical constraints of the job. Understands and complies with H.O.S.T. safety rules and company policies. Knows and understands the H.O.S.T. Employee Handbook and complies with its requirements, operating/technical procedures, and relevant standard operating procedures. Ability to effectively work well with employees and supervisors. Ability to understand and follow verbal and written correspondence and work instructions. Mechanically inclined preferred. Demonstrates good working knowledge of mechanical, electronic, and hydraulic processes. Good verbal communication skills. Basic computer skills.
