Fort Bliss, TX Job Details Full-time 13 hours ago Qualifications Outdoor work English High school diploma or GED Driver's License Climbing Full Job Description Technica LLC seeks to recruit for the position of Heavy Equipment Mechanic on a Government contract with a place of performance at Fort Bliss, TX. This position is full-time but temporary. Anticipated period of performance ending 3 October 2026.Position Responsibilities:
This position works on a wide range of civilian vehicles such as light and heavy trucks, forklifts and U.S. military vehicles, their associated trailers and MHE systems such as but not limited to: the newly inducted Joint Light Tactical Vehicles (JLTVs), High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicles (HMMWVs), Palletized Load Systems (PLSs), Light Medium Tactical Vehicles (LMTVs), Medium Tactical Vehicle (MTVs), High Mobility Engineer Excavator Type I (HMEE-I), 120M Motor Graders and D7RII Mine Clearing Armor Protection Vehicles (MCAs). Rough Terrain Container Handler (RTCH). Work is performed both indoors and outdoors. Use applicable references, Army Technical Manuals (EMS/IADS), inspecting, troubleshooting, servicing, repairing, replacement, adjusting and testing of vehicles, MHE systems, subsystems and components such as power plant/packs, compression ignition engines and engine fuel systems, air induction and exhaust systems and cooling systems. Vehicle chassis and powertrain components including, frame cross members, clutches assemblies, transmissions, transfers, final drives, propeller shaft assemblies, brake systems, steering systems, suspensions systems, fifth wheel assemblies, wheeled vehicle crane, hoist and winch assemblies, and hydraulic systems. Performs scheduled maintenance checks and adjustments on such things as fluid levels, hoses, belts, brakes, tires, and clutches, speed tandem drive axles with air or electric shift, hydrostatic driven, heavy duty multi-axle suspensions, both conventional steel or air springs; changes filters and oil and lubricates vehicles and motor driven equipment. Performs other tasks as assigned by the assistant supervisor or lead. Inspect, troubleshoot and repair, very complex wiring systems, hydraulics, transmissions, engines, air and hydraulic brakes systems. Applies advanced technical knowledge to solve unusually complex problems that typically cannot be solved solely by referencing manufacturers manuals or similar documents. Utilizes hand tools, diagnostic tools, complex computers systems for advanced Operates materiel handling equipment (MHE) as Performing other duties assigned by theAssistant Supervisor or Lead Minimum Requirements:
Must have at least 3 years of related experience. Must Demonstrate a good working knowledge of maintenance programs, policies, nomenclature, work methods, manuals, or other established guidelines. Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen and background checks related to the position. Valid state issued driver license. High school diploma or equivalent Must be a US Citizen or US permanent resident for more than 3 years. Able to function with a basic level of English oral and written language skills. Must be able to work in all types of weather conditions to include intense heat, heavy wind, blowing sand, heavy rain, sleet and snow. Must be able to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time. Able to pick up and move items within a 49 lbs. restriction with a frequent or constant lifting of 40 lbs. Able to climb in and out of military vehicles and related equipment. Capable of climbing and working on equipment at 10 feet above ground limit. Capable of using and understanding Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Able to work past normal hours as mission dictates.Preferred Qualifications:
