In this role, you will oversee the maintenance, repair, and operation of a wide range of heavy machinery and industrial equipment. Your expertise will ensure optimal performance, safety, and reliability across our fleet and machinery assets. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead technical projects, mentor junior team members, and contribute to the seamless functioning of our operations. The ideal candidate is energetic, detail-oriented, and possesses a strong foundation in heavy equipment diagnostics, repair, and operation. Responsibilities Lead the inspection, diagnosis, and repair of heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, bulldozers, and other industrial machinery. Operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently for various construction, farm, or industrial projects. Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire service, brake repairs, transmission servicing, hydraulic system repairs, and electrical troubleshooting. Interpret OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) schematics and technical manuals to accurately diagnose issues. Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding, soldering, hand tools, and power tools to ensure equipment longevity. Oversee compliance with safety standards related to air brake systems, suspension alignment, HVAC systems in machinery, and diesel engine repairs. Mentor junior mechanics and operators by sharing technical knowledge on vehicle maintenance and equipment repair best practices. Maintain detailed service records and logs for all repairs performed; ensure adherence to safety protocols during all operations. Skills Extensive dealership experience with heavy equipment brands such as Caterpillar or similar OEMs. Strong mechanical knowledge of farm machinery, industrial equipment, automotive diagnostics, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, and electrical systems. Proficiency in reading schematics and technical manuals for troubleshooting complex issues. Skilled in fabrication techniques including welding and soldering; capable of assembling or repairing components on-site or in-shop. Experience operating heavy machinery such as excavators, cranes (including mobile cranes), forklifts (including truck-mounted), tractor-trailers, and other industrial vehicles. Familiarity with service technician practices related to tire service, brake repair, alignment adjustments, HVAC systems in machinery, and diesel engine repair. Ability to use hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment; comfortable performing heavy lifting safely. Excellent customer service skills when interacting with internal teams or external clients regarding equipment status or repairs. Strong electrical experience including troubleshooting wiring issues; knowledge of OEM electrical systems is a plus.
