Flush Tech I :
(1) Have a minimum of 1 year experience flushing (2) have a good working knowledge of all associated technical directives including work items, work orders, NAVSEA drawings, and Process Control Procedures (PCPs) (3) be trained in all applicable departmental work instructions . (4) be able to complete paperwork associated with flushing with minimal mistakes (5) be able to trace piping systems onboard vessels (6) be able to problem solve (7) show good communication skills with coworkers (team player) and the customer (8) Demonstrate equipment specific knowledge such as: a. Flush Setup b. Electric Pump Setup and hookup c. Electric Heater setup and hookup d. Reading a PCP e. Filling out a Flushing Log f. Changing filter bags g.
Taking Samples Roles and Responsibilities:
Set Up:
o Mobilize, and setup Flush equipment o Route hoses and temp service lines IAW NSI and ships safety policies o Assemble the flushing equipment in the ship's spaces. o Ability to troubleshoot equipment as needed o Always maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
Operations:
o Maintain written logs during flushing activities. o Continuous inspection of hoses and equipment for leaks. o Assist with completion of OQE paperwork as needed/directed. o Able to accurately turnover work activities during shift work.
Break Down:
o Able to disconnect flushing equipment in a controlled manner. o Able to restore ships systems after flush has been completed o Maintain a clean worksite during 'break-down' of flush rig. o Document and inventory all flush equipment before moving it to another job or returning it to the yard.
Repairs and Maintenance:
o Maintain equipment including pumps, filters, basic plumbing, some electrical, metal fabrication and repair. o Standardized maintenance practices before and after each job, including but not limited to cleaning and inspecting tools and equipment.
Additional Responsibilities:
Performs other related duties as requested or assigned. Participates in the service repair and maintenance program. Always use proper Personal Protective Equipment, ear plugs, safety glasses Team oriented Ability to learn, think critically, and solve problems Ability to read labels, safety warnings, and guidelines Attentive to detail and alert always to ensure safety Able to receive and follow instructions and communicate with co-workers Ability to safely operate various vehicles and equipment
