MUST HAVE HEAVY EQUIPMENT MECHANIC OR FIELD SERVICE EXPERIENCE
We are actively seeking experienced Heavy Equipment Field Service Technicians to support an industrial worksite in the Hampton Roads area . This role focuses on on-site repair, diagnostics, maintenance, and assembly of heavy industrial and material handling equipment . Technicians will service major equipment brands including Sennebogen, JLG, Hyster, Kone, Toyota, John Deere, CAT (Caterpillar), Volvo, and Clark . This is a safety-driven, customer-facing position offering steady work, competitive pay, and long-term opportunity with established industrial partners. What You'll Do Perform on-site diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair of heavy equipment and industrial machinery Assemble and inspect machines upon delivery and ensure proper setup and operation Conduct preventive maintenance and routine service calls Repair hydraulic systems, diesel engines, mechanical components, and electrical systems Interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, hydraulic schematics, and technical manuals Train equipment operators on safe operation, functions, and maintenance requirements Perform welding and fabrication repairs as needed Accurately document labor time, parts, travel, and service reports for billing and warranty Maintain strong customer communication with a focus on uptime and safety What We're Looking For Proven experience as a heavy equipment mechanic, diesel mechanic, or field service technician Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and mechanical systems Ability to troubleshoot electrical and control systems Experience working independently in the field at industrial or construction sites Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and service manuals Strong safety awareness and attention to detail Valid driver's license and ability to travel to customer locations in Hampton Roads Reliable attendance and professional work ethic Preferred (Nice to Have) OEM training or certification with CAT, Toyota, Hyster, JLG, Volvo, or similar equipment Welding and fabrication experience Prior experience in shipyards, ports, manufacturing plants, or heavy industrial environments Experience servicing cranes, forklifts, aerial lifts, or material handling equipment Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and handle tools and parts regularly Ability to stand, kneel, climb, and work in confined or elevated areas Comfortable working outdoors and in active industrial environments Ability to wear required PPE and follow strict safety protocols Why Work With Us Steady work with long-term industrial and shipyard clients Competitive hourly pay based on experience with overtime opportunities Benefits including medical and dental Safety-first culture and supportive team environment Apply today if you have heavy equipment repair experience and are ready for a stable, field-based technician role in the Hampton Roads industrial market.
