Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Heavy Equipment Field Mechanic to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy machinery and industrial equipment in the field. Your expertise will ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently across various job sites, supporting our commitment to excellence and reliability. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and other industrial machinery using OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) specifications. Conduct routine maintenance including oil changes, filter replacements, hydraulic system servicing, brake repairs, transmission work, and tire service to maximize equipment uptime. Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot electrical systems, hydraulics, suspension components, air brake systems, HVAC units, and powertrain assemblies. Fabricate custom parts or modify existing components using welding, soldering, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to meet specific operational needs. Operate heavy machinery safely during on-site repairs or testing procedures while adhering to safety protocols. Maintain detailed service records, work orders, and inspection reports to ensure compliance with safety standards and OEM guidelines. Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding repair status and recommended maintenance solutions. Skills Proven dealership experience or extensive mechanic experience working with heavy equipment and farm machinery. Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems, and air brake systems. Proficiency in reading schematics and technical manuals for troubleshooting complex issues. Skilled in fabrication techniques including welding and soldering; familiar with assembly processes for heavy equipment components. Experience with excavator operation, crane maintenance, forklift servicing, tractor-trailer systems, HVAC units on industrial equipment, and automotive diagnostics. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely using appropriate tools and safety gear. Excellent problem-solving skills combined with customer service aptitude to address client needs effectively. $110,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
