The position:
Under the direction of the Technical Operations Manager (TOM), the Equipment Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain materials testing equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and established processes. Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain materials testing equipment. Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of testing equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of equipment during service. Perform simple mechanic duties and responsibilities. Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of equipment. Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service. Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments. Perform regular preventive maintenance on equipment. Perform a variety of carpentry functions, as needed. Use a variety of hand and power tools in performing duties. Detect faulty operations and defective equipment and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision. Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas. Communicate with vendors to completely understand equipment operation and troubleshoot issues. Capable of performing equipment calibrations and documentation of such calibrations. Proficiency in the equipment module of LaStrada, including tracking of repairs and scheduled maintenance
Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent. Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record. Strong interpersonal, organization and communication skills; works well in a team environment. The ability to effectively handle multiple tasks simultaneously and the ability to work effectively and efficiently with minimal supervision; must be a self-starter. The ability to frequently lift 50 - 70 pounds. The ability to understand and follow all established and required company safety guidelines. The ability to obtain the necessary certifications required to perform assigned duties. The ability to strictly adhere to company established laboratory Excellent verbal and written communication skills (preferred) Innovative and solution driven (preferred)
