Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and cooperative Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy machinery and industrial equipment to ensure optimal operational performance. Your expertise will help keep our fleet running smoothly, minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity. This position offers a unique opportunity to work with diverse machinery, including excavators, skid loaders, dump trucks, etc., in a fast-paced environment that values proactive problem-solving and technical excellence. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics using schematics, OEM manuals, and electrical testing to identify issues with heavy equipment. Conduct repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, air brake systems, suspension components, and electrical wiring to restore equipment functionality. Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding, soldering, and power tools to meet specific repair or customization requirements. Maintain and service various vehicles to ensure safety and compliance with industry standards. Troubleshoot complex mechanical problems involving HVAC systems, alignment issues, tire service, brake repairs, and powertrain components. Use schematics and technical manuals to interpret system layouts for precise repairs or assembly tasks. Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, tire rotations, and fluid checks to prevent future breakdowns. Operate heavy equipment safely during repair procedures when necessary while adhering to all safety protocols. Document all repairs and maintenance activities thoroughly for record keeping and compliance purposes. Experience Proven mechanic experience working with heavy equipment. Strong knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems, and HVAC components. Skilled in fabrication techniques including welding and soldering; experience with schematics interpretation is essential. Hands-on experience with automotive diagnostics tools and power tools required for precise repairs. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while working in various environmental conditions. Prior service technician experience in a dealership or industrial setting is advantageous. Excellent mechanical knowledge and strong ability to work as a team.
