Job Description

Our team in Berkshire County is seeking a reliable and skilled Appliance Service Technician to support our operations. We welcome applicants at any stage of their career, from entry-level to seasoned professionals. You will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing a wide range of household appliances, including refrigerators, dishwashers, microwaves, ranges, and laundry units. We offer comprehensive training for the right candidate, and compensation is commensurate with your professional background. Core Responsibilities Identify and resolve malfunctions in refrigerators, dishwashers, microwaves, ranges, and laundry equipment. Inspect units to detect irregularities such as leaks, vibrations, unusual sounds, or detached components. Utilize technical documentation and your own expertise to resolve intricate mechanical failures. Analyze and interpret technical schematics and wiring diagrams. Employ diagnostic instruments such as voltmeters and amp meters to isolate electrical faults. Perform complex repairs on electronic components, including sensors and circuit boards. Ensure optimal performance of newly installed units by verifying all functions during setup. Maintain refrigeration systems, including air conditioning units and refrigerators, to ensure peak operational efficiency. Educate clients on best practices for appliance operation and routine maintenance to extend product lifespan. Ensure all service work adheres to strict safety standards, including the proper handling and disposal of refrigerants like HCFCs and CFCs. Candidate Requirements Completion of high school or an equivalent educational program. Solid foundation in refrigeration, electrical systems, and general appliance mechanics. Proficiency in operating brazing torches, soldering equipment, and standard hand tools. Capability to interpret technical diagrams and perform effective troubleshooting. Possession of a valid driver's license and a clean driving history. Strong interpersonal skills to provide excellent service while working autonomously. Successful completion of a drug screen and background check is mandatory prior to employment. Preferred Qualifications Prior professional experience in the appliance repair field is advantageous. Formal technical training or industry certifications are highly valued but not mandatory. Familiarity with refrigeration repair and HVAC system maintenance.
