HVAC/Mechanical Estimator

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented HVAC/Mechanical Estimator. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately estimating the costs of HVAC and mechanical systems for a variety of commercial, industrial, and institutional projects. Your expertise will help ensure competitive pricing, effective project planning, and successful project execution. Responsibilities Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for HVAC and mechanical systems using construction estimating software. Review project plans, specifications, blueprints, and contract documents to determine scope of work and identify potential challenges or cost-saving opportunities. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to develop comprehensive pricing strategies that align with project goals. Conduct site visits to gather on-site data, assess existing conditions, and validate assumptions used in estimates. Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing while maintaining quality standards. Monitor project budgets throughout the bidding process and support cost control efforts during project execution. Assist in contract review and support project management teams in contract negotiations and change order management. Maintain detailed records of estimates, assumptions, and correspondence for transparency and future reference. Qualifications Proven experience in construction estimating with a focus on HVAC or mechanical systems. Proficiency in construction estimating software. Excellent negotiation skills to secure favorable pricing without compromising quality or safety standards. Solid understanding of cost control techniques and pricing strategies within the construction industry. Hands-on construction site experience that provides insight into field conditions affecting estimates. Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contract documents accurately.
