Job Description
HVAC Systems Apprentice SUMMARY:
A semi-skilled position providing assistance to skilled craftsman. The employee is required to have a valid Alabama driver's license.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and at least twelve months related experience. 2. A general knowledge of the methods, materials, tools, and practices of the refrigeration and air conditioning trade. 3. Ability to read, write, and understand routine non-technical instructions. 4. Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts. 5. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

: Director of Maintenance and Facilities/ HVAC Systems Mechanic
I, II TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with the system's approved compensation plan. Length of the work year and hours of employment shall be those established by the system.
REQUIRED DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assists HVAC Systems Mechanic with repairs, installation and general maintenance of HVAC equipment such as changing filters or belts, or other related repairs to HVAC equipment. Maintains clean and safe work area. Cleans and properly stores tools and equipment after use. Maintains and exhibits a high level of ethical and professional standards as expected of all personnel. Participates in in-service training as assigned. Other duties being assigned as necessary.

The employee is required to walk. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and in outside weather conditions and is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, or extreme heat. The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to extreme cold or risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually noisy.
