Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and skilled Journeyman Apprentice to join our dynamic team in the field of HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, and mechanical systems. This paid apprenticeship position offers a unique opportunity to develop your expertise while contributing to property maintenance, equipment repair, and service technician tasks. As a Journeyman Apprentice, you will work closely with experienced professionals to gain hands-on experience in installing, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of mechanical systems. Your enthusiasm for learning and strong work ethic will drive your success in this energetic environment dedicated to excellence and safety. Responsibilities Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC systems, refrigeration units, plumbing fixtures, and mechanical equipment. Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and HVAC design documents to support system troubleshooting and repairs. Conduct routine inspections of air conditioning units, boilers, ammonia refrigeration systems, and other mechanical equipment to ensure optimal operation. Use diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and welding equipment to identify issues and perform necessary repairs. Support field service activities including appliance repair, property maintenance, and system upgrades. Follow safety protocols while working with complex systems like HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning / Refrigeration) and ammonia refrigeration. Collaborate with team members on equipment repair projects and assist in maintaining detailed service records. Qualifications Prior experience or training in construction, service technician roles, or mechanical systems is highly desirable. Knowledge of schematics, HVAC design principles, plumbing systems, refrigeration technology, and equipment repair techniques. Familiarity with field service operations including appliance repair and property maintenance tasks. Ability to read technical diagrams and operate diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters effectively. Mechanical knowledge related to boilers, air conditioning units, ammonia refrigeration systems, and general HVAC/R equipment. Experience with welding techniques and basic maintenance procedures is a plus. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; driver experience preferred for transportation needs.
