Job Description

JOB SUMMARY
The HVAC Apprentice will assist with inspections, maintenance, installations, repairs, and troubleshooting of commercial HVAC/R systems while developing technical skills through hands-on training and mentorship. The ideal candidate has a strong work ethic, positive attitude, willingness to learn, and commitment to providing excellent customer service while maintaining the highest safety standards.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
ASSIST experienced technicians with inspections, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial HVAC/R equipment. LEARN proper use of HVAC tools, testing equipment, and diagnostic instruments. ASSIST with equipment installations, start-ups, and preventive maintenance services.
MAINTAIN
a clean and organized work environment, including company vehicles and job sites.
DOCUMENT
work performed through notes, pictures, videos, and service software as directed.
COMMUNICATE
effectively with supervisors, dispatch, and customers. FOLLOW all company safety procedures and OSHA guidelines.
PARTICIPATE
in training programs, manufacturer training, and continuing education opportunities. PERFORM other duties as assigned to support service operations.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems preferred. Knowledge of hand and power tools. Knowledge of workplace safety practices and procedures. Interest in learning commercial HVAC/R systems and industry best practices. Skilled in problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities. Skilled in effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to follow instructions and learn from experienced technicians. Skilled in basic computer and mobile device proficiency for service documentation and communication. Skilled in organizational and time-management skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Ability to learn technical concepts and apply training in the field. Ability to work in varying weather conditions and job-site environments. Ability to lift equipment and materials weighing up to 50 pounds. Ability to climb ladders, work at heights, and enter confined spaces when necessary. Ability to maintain professionalism when interacting with customers and coworkers.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma, GED, or currently enrolled in a trade school/apprenticeship program. Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record. Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screening. Willingness to obtain EPA 608 certification within a designated period after hire.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Enrollment in or completion of HVAC trade school coursework. Previous experience in construction, maintenance, mechanical trades, or
HVAC. OSHA 10
certification. EPA 608 certification. Basic electrical or mechanical knowledge.
SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS
Must pass a criminal background check and drug screening. Must have a valid driver's license. Must maintain an acceptable driving record. Must be able to work overtime and occasionally on weekends as business needs require.

WORK CONDITIONS.
Work takes place both indoors and outdoors in a variety of settings, including mechanical rooms, rooftops, warehouses, office buildings, retail spaces, and more
