Job Description This role is responsible for maintaining the performance and reliability of HVAC and building systems within a hospital environment by performing preventative maintenance and routine inspections on equipment such as air conditioning units, refrigeration systems, evaporative coolers, ventilation systems, and exhaust fans. The technician will troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and control components, while actively monitoring and adjusting building automation systems (BAS) to ensure proper temperature, airflow, and system efficiency. Daily responsibilities include diagnosing system issues and completing timely repairs to minimize downtime, supporting cooling tower operations and water treatment processes, and conducting system performance checks to optimize efficiency. The technician will also respond to work orders and urgent maintenance requests, collaborate with facilities team members on projects and repairs, document completed work, communicate updates clearly to leadership, and ensure all tasks are performed in compliance with hospital safety standards and regulatory requirements. - 4+ years of HVAC maintenance experience in commercial or large residential environments
- EPA Universal Certification
- Experience troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and controls/BAS systems
- High School Diploma or
GED + HVAC
trade school or equivalent training
- Experience working in a hospital or healthcare setting
- Experience with cooling towers, water treatment systems, or advanced BAS platforms
