Role:
The HVAC Supervisor plays a critical role in overseeing the installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems across various multi-family, residential, commercial, and industrial sites. This position ensures that all HVAC projects are completed efficiently, safely, and in compliance with industry standards and local regulations. The supervisor leads a team of technicians, providing guidance, training, and support to maintain high-quality workmanship and customer satisfaction. They are responsible for coordinating schedules, managing resources, and troubleshooting complex system issues to minimize downtime and optimize system performance. Ultimately, the HVAC Supervisor ensures operational excellence and fosters a productive work environment that aligns with organizational goals.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in HVAC technology preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience in HVAC installation, maintenance, and repair. Proven experience in a supervisory or lead role within the HVAC industry. Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, controls, and relevant safety standards. Valid driver's license and ability to travel to various job sites within the United States.
Preferred Qualifications:
EPA Section 608 Certification for handling refrigerants. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and HVAC software. Familiarity with energy-efficient HVAC technologies and sustainable building practices. Certification in OSHA safety standards and training.
Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate daily activities of HVAC technicians and subcontractors to ensure timely project completion. Conduct regular inspections of HVAC systems to assess performance, identify issues, and implement corrective actions. Develop and maintain project schedules, allocate resources effectively, and monitor progress against deadlines. Ensure compliance with safety protocols, building codes, and environmental regulations during all phases of work. Provide technical training and mentorship to team members to enhance skills and knowledge. Collaborate with clients, contractors, and suppliers to address project requirements and resolve challenges. Prepare and maintain detailed reports on work performed, materials used, and labor hours. Manage inventory of HVAC equipment, tools, and supplies to support ongoing operations.
