HVAC Refrigeration Technician II Posting Number req26247 Department Facilities Mgmt-Maint Services Department Website Link Facilities Management Location Tucson Campus Address Tucson, AZ USA Position Highlights University Facility Services is looking to fill an HVAC Refrigeration Technician II position. The successful candidate will install, maintain, repair, and overhaul HVAC and Refrigeration equipment. Working conditions include but are not limited to restricted movement, extreme temperatures, intense noise, hazardous materials, wet locations, hazardous working locations, and lifting and/or carrying heavy objects.

Duties & Responsibilities Performs planned maintenance, regular servicing and repairs of heating and refrigeration equipment of all types, sizes and temperature ranges. Performs complex repairs and services on mechanical, HVAC, Chillers, Boilers, Walk-In's and Cold Room under direct supervision of the Project Manager. Tests malfunctioning systems and components using electrical, mechanical, and digital controls. Maintains cooling towers, water treatment and tower distribution system. Prepares estimates for repairs and installation of HVAC equipment. Installs and replaces all types of HVAC equipment according to prints, specifications, diagrams or other instructions. Coordinates work schedules with other shops and departments to keep inconvenience to a minimum. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge with reading and understanding schematics. Customer service skills. Ability to work in a team setting. Physical and Environmental Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or high school diploma equivalency is required. Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience. In addition to the education and experience minimum qualifications, Apprenticeship program, technical training experience required. Must have a valid driver's license and ability to drive according to the University Fleet Safety Policy . Preferred Qualifications Experience repairing and maintaining walk-in/reach-in freezers and coolers. Experience repairing and maintaining chillers and boilers. Experience repairing ice machines. Experience with commercial, industrial and residential HVAC systems.
