Job Description

HVAC Maintenance Technician - Long Beach, California Multiple positions available across the region Pay Range - $26.00 to $30.00 Overview We are seeking skilled HVAC Maintenance Technicians who take pride in quality work, strong customer service, and keeping residential communities running smoothly. This role is ideal for someone who is experienced in HVAC systems, comfortable with general maintenance, and enjoys working in a fast paced environment where every day brings something new. This position includes participation in a rotating on call schedule for after hours emergencies. Key Responsibilities Diagnose, repair, and maintain HVAC systems including compressors, motors, coils, and thermostats Perform preventative maintenance on heating and cooling equipment Handle refrigerants safely and in compliance with EPA standards Complete general maintenance tasks including plumbing repairs, unclogging drains, fixing leaks, and water heater troubleshooting Perform drywall patching, sanding, painting, and finish work to restore units to a like new condition Complete basic electrical repairs including replacing fixtures, switches, and ballasts Prepare vacant units for new residents and ensure all systems meet quality standards Respond to resident work orders with professionalism and urgency Conduct routine inspections of buildings, equipment, and mechanical systems Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts used, and completed work Support overall property upkeep and identify issues before they become emergencies Required Certifications Valid HVAC Certification EPA Universal Certification Required Experience and Skills One to two years of hands on HVAC experience Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, troubleshooting, and repair Experience with general maintenance including plumbing, electrical, and drywall Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Ability to lift more than 75 pounds Ability to work in various weather conditions Strong communication and customer service skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Who Thrives in This Role Someone who enjoys solving problems and working with their hands Someone who communicates clearly with residents and team members Someone who takes pride in quality workmanship and reliability Someone who can manage multiple tasks and stay organized Someone who values stability, teamwork, and long term growth Benefits Medical, dental, and vision insurance with dependent coverage options Life insurance and disability insurance 401K with employer matching Paid holidays Rent discounts for eligible employees
