In this energetic role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of HVAC systems across commercial and residential properties. Your mechanical expertise and technical proficiency will ensure optimal climate control, energy efficiency, and system reliability. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge HVAC technology, building automation systems, and refrigeration equipment while delivering exceptional service to our clients. Duties Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and ventilation systems. Read and interpret schematics, technical diagrams, blueprints, and building automation system layouts to accurately diagnose issues. Perform electrical diagnostics using tools such as ohmmeters and multimeters to identify faults within mechanical and electrical components. Conduct routine maintenance on HVAC/R equipment to ensure peak performance and compliance with safety standards. Repair or replace mechanical systems components such as motors, fans, compressors, valves, and piping—often involving plumbing or welding techniques. Diagnose refrigerant leaks and perform refrigerant recovery or recharge procedures in accordance with EPA regulations. Collaborate with property managers or clients to develop HVAC design solutions tailored to specific building needs. Maintain detailed service records, work orders, and logs of all repairs performed for accountability and future reference. Operate a driver vehicle safely while transporting tools or equipment to job sites. Assist in building automation system programming or troubleshooting to optimize energy efficiency and system integration. Requirements Proven experience in construction environments or property maintenance roles with a focus on HVAC systems. Service technician experience working with mechanical systems repair, refrigeration, electrical diagnostics, or appliance repair. Strong understanding of schematics, blueprints, HVAC design principles, and building automation systems. Mechanical knowledge of HVAC/R equipment including boilers, ammonia refrigeration systems, air conditioning units, and ventilation setups. Ability to perform plumbing tasks related to HVAC installations or repairs; welding skills are a plus. Valid EPA certification for refrigerant handling; experience with ammonia refrigeration is desirable. Proficiency in electrical diagnostics using tools like ohmmeters; experience with electrical wiring is essential. Mechanical skills related to equipment repair and maintenance; experience as a mechanic is advantageous. Knowledge of HVAC/R codes and safety standards; ability to read technical manuals accurately. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record for safe transportation between job sites. Excellent problem-solving skills combined with the ability to work independently or as part of a team in field service environments.
