Commercial HVAC Maintenance Technician Newark, CA 94560 $33.50 - $55.00 an hour - Full-time $33.50 - $55.00 an hour - Full-time Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Commercial HVAC Maintenance Technician to join our team and ensure the optimal operation of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, and related mechanical systems across various commercial properties. In this role, you will perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot complex equipment issues, and execute repairs to maintain a safe, efficient, and comfortable environment for our clients. Your expertise in HVAC systems, plumbing, refrigeration, and mechanical knowledge will be vital to delivering exceptional service and ensuring system longevity. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects with a focus on field service excellence and technical precision. Responsibilities Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on commercial HVAC systems, including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and ammonia refrigeration systems. Diagnose and troubleshoot system malfunctions using schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters. Perform equipment repairs or replacements involving mechanical components, electrical wiring, piping, plumbing fixtures, or refrigeration lines. Read and interpret HVAC design plans and schematics to accurately identify system configurations and troubleshoot issues effectively. Execute welding tasks or other mechanical repairs requiring specialized skills to restore system integrity. Maintain detailed service records, including work performed, parts used, and system conditions for each job. Experience Proven experience as a service technician in commercial HVAC maintenance or related field service roles. Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in equipment repair involving boilers, air conditioning units, refrigeration systems (including ammonia refrigeration), and appliances. Familiarity with construction processes and ability to read schematics for complex HVAC/R systems. Experience working with plumbing systems, welding techniques, and electrical troubleshooting using tools like ohmmeters. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; experience operating driver vehicles preferred. Knowledge of HVAC design principles and property maintenance best practices is highly desirable. Previous experience with mechanical systems such as pumps, valves, ductwork installation/repair, and boiler operation is advantageous.
