Legacy Mechanical is seeking an experienced Journeyman Pipefitter / Journeyman HVAC Installer with strong commercial mechanical piping experience to join our construction team. This position is ideal for a skilled tradesperson who takes pride in quality workmanship, works safely, and has experience installing hydronic and HVAC piping systems and equipment. If you are proficient in copper piping, grooved piping systems, equipment installation, and mechanical room construction, we want to hear from you. Position Summary The Journeyman Pipefitter is responsible for the installation, testing, and startup of commercial HVAC and mechanical piping systems. This role requires a strong understanding of hydronic systems, mechanical equipment installation, and construction best practices. Key Responsibilities Mechanical Piping Installation Install commercial HVAC and hydronic piping systems according to plans and specifications. Perform brazing and soldering of copper piping systems. Install grooved piping systems and related components. Install valves, pumps, specialties, and associated piping equipment. Ensure all piping installations meet quality standards and code requirements. Equipment Installation Install and connect mechanical equipment including: Boilers Chillers Cooling Towers Fan Coil Units Pumps and Hydronic Equipment Assist with equipment rigging, setting, piping, and startup activities. Coordinate equipment installation with other trades and project personnel. Testing & Quality Control Perform pressure testing, flushing, and startup preparation of piping systems. Verify proper installation and operation of mechanical systems. Assist with commissioning activities and project closeout requirements. Complete required project documentation accurately and timely. Safety & Compliance Follow all company safety policies and OSHA requirements. Install seismic bracing and supports in accordance with project specifications and applicable codes. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Identify and communicate potential jobsite hazards. Team Collaboration Work closely with Project Managers, Foremen, and fellow technicians to ensure successful project execution. Communicate project progress, material needs, and field challenges effectively. Support Legacy Mechanical's commitment to quality, safety, and customer satisfaction. Qualifications Journeyman-level experience in pipefitting, HVAC installation, or mechanical construction. Proficiency in brazing and soldering copper piping systems. Experience installing grooved piping systems. Knowledge of hydronic, chilled water, condenser water, and heating water piping systems. Experience with seismic bracing installation and mechanical supports. Experience installing boilers, chillers, cooling towers, fan coil units, pumps, and related mechanical equipment. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and mechanical drawings. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. OSHA 10 certification preferred. Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
