About Us Mitchell Heating is currently looking for a top-notch, experienced HVAC Service Technician to join our team in the Colorado Springs area. We are looking for someone who takes pride in quality work, understands the importance of excellent customer service, and can troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and service a variety of residential HVAC systems. This position is ideal for a technician who is dependable, professional, mechanically skilled, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team. Job Responsibilities The HVAC Service Technician will be responsible for performing service, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair work on residential HVAC systems. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Provide preventive maintenance, site surveys, replacements, and system modifications as needed or requested by customers. Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical components of HVAC equipment. Repair refrigeration, air conditioning, heating, control systems, humidity control systems, and temperature control systems. Perform system startups and troubleshooting for a variety of residential HVAC systems. Meet with customers, evaluate their HVAC needs, and make appropriate recommendations. Provide excellent customer service while representing Mitchell Heating in a professional manner. Complete all required paperwork and documentation for each job. Maintain accurate service records and job files. Assist with new construction HVAC installations, equipment setup, and piping when needed. Keep current with manufacturer products, including installation, operation, maintenance, service, and repair requirements. Maintain company vehicles by scheduling oil changes, reporting issues, and ensuring routine care is completed. Perform related duties as assigned. Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 2 years of previous HVAC service experience. Valid driver's license with a clean and acceptable driving record. Ability to troubleshoot residential HVAC systems. Ability to work safely and follow company procedures. Strong communication and customer service skills. EPA 608 Mech 4 Preferred Qualifications Strong mechanical aptitude. Ability to exercise good judgment and make appropriate decisions in the field. Knowledge and skill in the safe use and maintenance of required HVAC tools and equipment. Ability to work independently and as part of a crew. Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and service correspondence. Basic math skills, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 150 pounds. Work in tight spaces, including attics and crawl spaces, for extended periods as needed. Work in both indoor and outdoor conditions, including extreme heat, extreme cold, wet, and/or humid environments. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Work Environment The employee may be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, outside weather conditions, extreme heat, extreme cold, moving mechanical parts, and vibration.
