Responsible for calibrating, testing, operating, maintaining, repairing, and inspecting all heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems in the District in accordance with state and local regulations and codes.
Essential Duties:
Maintain and operate heating, ventilating and cooling systems by calibrating, testing, repairing and air-balancing delivery systems according to state and local regulations Operate, repair, and inspect all major HVAC-related equipment including boilers, cooling towers, absorbers, air conditioning units, evaporative cooler, chillers, air compressors, pumps, induction fans, exhaust fans, pneumatic and electronic controls, thermostats, dampers and air driers Address problems related to cross connection, heating, ventilation, smells, noises, leaks, safety, and emergency situations by responding to calls from district personnel Perform electrical, plumbing, controls, retrofit, and remodeling including fuse replacement, motor wiring, switch replacement, circuit testing, pipe fitting, soldering, valve replacement, brazing, code upgrades and re-engineering for the support of obsolete or addition of non-standard equipment Operate a computer to enter and complete work orders, update status reports and labor logs, and monitor District-wide HVAC automation Provide on-call support for after-hour problems and emergencies Perform preventative maintenance including air filter changes. Education/Certification:
High school diploma or equivalent, plus specialized courses in HVAC,electrical or plumbing trade Must maintain valid Colorado driver's license and meet District auto insurability requirement Pool operator license preferred or within 6 months of hire date CFC refrigeration certificate preferred or within 6 months of hire date Successful completion of an asbestos training class required within 6 weeks after hire Criminal background check required for hire
Experience:
One year and up to and including two years of experience in maintenance and operation of HVAC systems Salary range $30.03
  • $44.
30 per hour. Direct experience will be taken into consideration for the starting salary.
Work year:
253 contract days (Classified Calendar)
