Commercial HVAC Commissioning & Field Service Technician Alliance All Trades HVAC Thomaston, CT Job Details $30 - $45 an hour 6 hours ago Benefits Profit sharing Paid holidays Dental insurance 401(k) Paid time off Vision insurance Opportunities for advancement Qualifications Customer communication Full Job Description What your day looks like Morning starts on-site at a new install, powering up equipment and walking through control sequences with a project manager. By mid-day you're verifying sensors, dialing in setpoints, and documenting functional performance tests. In the afternoon, you pivot to a field service call to troubleshoot a rooftop unit, close a punch list item with the installer, and finish with customer training and a clean handoff. Core Impact Start up and commission rooftop units, split systems, chillers, and control systems. Diagnose and repair issues in the field across electrical, mechanical, and controls. Calibrate sensors, verify sequences of operation, and confirm setpoints. Execute functional performance testing and produce complete documentation. Provide customer training and handoff materials to ensure a confident turnover. Collaborate with project managers, installers, and subcontractors to resolve punch list items. Keep thorough service reports, parts usage, and warranty records. Follow safety protocols and represent the company with professionalism onsite. What you bring 3+ years in field service, startup, commissioning, or controls (commercial HVAC preferred). Experience with VRF (variable refrigerant flow) systems strongly preferred. Knowledge of HVAC controls, refrigerant charging practices, and electrical fundamentals. Comfort with diagnostic tools (multimeter, manifold gauges) and using a tablet/computer. Exceptional troubleshooting ability, meticulous attention to detail, and clear customer communication. Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to customer locations. CT S, or D license is required . Where you'll work Primarily onsite at new installations and in the field responding to service calls, ensuring systems operate safely and efficiently.
