HVAC Service Manager (Commercial/Industrial)

About the Role An established mechanical contractor is seeking an experienced and motivated HVAC Service Manager to lead our commercial/industrial service department. This role requires strong HVAC/R knowledge along with leadership, estimating, communication, and organizational skills. As an HVAC Service Manager, you will oversee a team of skilled technicians, ensuring high-quality service delivery, efficient operations, and compliance with industry standards. You'll play a key role in installations, troubleshooting, and overall service excellence. Key Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate HVAC technicians in the field Oversee installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC systems (AC units, boilers, refrigeration systems) Review schematics and system designs for accuracy and compliance Conduct inspections to assess performance and identify improvements Train and mentor technicians on best practices Manage inventory of tools and service equipment Collaborate with construction and mechanical teams on projects Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations Basic Qualifications Proven experience as an HVAC technician or in a supervisory role Preferred Qualifications Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience in equipment/appliance repair Experience with diagnostic tools (e.g., ohmmeter) and welding equipment Familiarity with ammonia refrigeration systems (a plus) Background in construction or property maintenance preferred Benefits Competitive compensation Medical, dental, and vision insurance Life insurance Pension plan Paid vacation, holidays, and sick time Opportunities for professional development Supportive work-life balance
