The Role As Certified Maintenance Technician of Altura Largo — a 232-unit, stabilized garden community in Largo, FL — you should know your way around refrigerant, a leaking pipe, and a work order queue that never stops. Fortiva Residential is hiring a skilled, dependable HVAC Maintenance Technician to join our team at one of our Largo apartment communities. This is a full-time, hands-on role for someone who enjoys the work — diagnosing problems, turning units fast, and being the person residents can count on. Property Type Garden / Class C, 232 Units Schedule Mon-Fri, 8 am-5 pm•Occasional after hour availability required. What You'll Do Handle service requests, make-readies, HVAC diagnostics and repairs, lock changes, and appliance work Respond to after-hours emergency calls (on-call rotation with paid bonus) Keep units and common areas in top condition — no two days look the same What We're Looking For HVAC Certification — EPA Universal or 608 required CAMT preferred 1+ year of experience in apartment or residential maintenance Solid all-around skills: HVAC, plumbing, electrical basics, appliances, general repairs Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and a smartphone for work use Available for emergencies without having to be tracked down Pride in your work and respect for the people who live in the community you maintain This role involves being on your feet most of the day, climbing ladders, working in tight spaces, and occasionally moving heavy equipment (up to 150 lbs with assistance).
