Job Description

ISLAND BREEZE HEATING & AIR - HVAC
Service Technician
WHO THIS IS FOR
You're the kind of person who doesn't need to be told twice. You show up early, in uniform, ready to work — not because someone's watching, but because that's just who you are. You take ownership of your truck, your calls, your clients, and your numbers. When something goes wrong on a job, your first instinct is to fix it, not explain why it wasn't your fault. Your friends would describe you as dependable, sharp, and someone who takes pride in doing things the right way. You communicate clearly — with clients, with dispatch, and with your co-workers. You can walk into a stranger's home, earn their trust in five minutes, and leave them feeling like they finally found a company they can call for life. You thrive when you have autonomy. You don't need to be managed. You want a scorecard, clear expectations, and the freedom to perform. You get satisfaction from solving a problem correctly, explaining it plainly to a homeowner, and closing the job with their confidence, not just their signature. You handle pressure well. When it's 96 degrees and the call load is stacked, you stay steady. When a system is throwing a code you haven't seen before, you dig in instead of guessing. When a client is frustrated, you de-escalate — because you care about the outcome, not just the argument. You want to grow. Not just technically, though that matters, but professionally and personally as well. You see this job as a career, not just a stop on the way. You're coachable, curious, and you hold yourself to a standard most people around you don't.
WHO THIS ROLE IS NOT FOR
This is not the place for you if accountability and honest feedback are not important to you. We expect the same standard from everyone and since our reputation lives or dies with every job. One sloppy call doesn't just cost us a client, it can cost us the ten referrals they would have sent. If you are looking for just a sales job, then this is the wrong company for you, we present honest options and earn the work from our clients. This is a non-negotiable here. This also isn't the right fit if you're looking for a place to just coast. The truck, the tools, the paperwork, and the client in front of you are yours to own, and how you handle the details can tell us everything about how you handled the job. Finally, if callbacks don't bother you, we're probably not a match. We want our technicians to care when there is a callback, not out of fear, but because they hold themselves to a higher standard and want to understand why it happened and how to help prevent them in the future. The Mission Island Breeze exists to enhance the lives of Jacksonville homeowners through exceptional heating and cooling solutions. We don't just fix equipment — we build trust, one home at a time. When you work here, you're the one who makes that real. Your name goes on every call you run. Ready to Apply? If what you read above described the way you already operate — we want to hear from you. Send your resume and a short note on why you're the right fit: BKikendall@IslandBreezeCooling.com - 904-349-6087 We read every application and respond to every qualified candidate.
