Installation Set up new systems:

Safely install, connect, and test brand-new AC units, heat pumps, and ductwork according to manufacturer blueprints and specifications.

Electrical and wiring:

Wire thermostats, circuit breakers, and electronic components so systems operate reliably.

Refrigerant lines:

Cut, bend, and braze tubing to connect indoor and outdoor components, ensuring zero leaks and proper system charging.

Service and Repair Diagnose malfunctions: Troubleshoot broken or inefficient systems by using gauges, multimeters, and diagnostic software.

Component replacement:

Fix or swap out defective parts such as motors, compressors, fan blades, and capacitors.

System restoration:

Resolve airflow issues, clear clogged drains, and test refrigerant levels to get units cooling effectively.

Maintenance Routine tune-ups: Perform seasonal preventive maintenance like cleaning coils, replacing filters, and lubricating moving parts.

System inspection:

Test overall system performance, check for safety hazards, and ensure compliance with local building and environmental codes.

Qualifications & Requirements Education:

Completion of an HVAC trade school program or a structured apprenticeship.

Certifications:

EPA Certification (required to handle refrigerants); North American Technician Excellence (NATE) certification is highly preferred by employers.

Skills:

Strong mechanical aptitude, logical troubleshooting, and the ability to read technical schematics.

Physical demands:

Ability to lift heavy equipment, climb ladders, and comfortably work in tight or extreme environments (e.g., hot attics or on rooftops)

Pay:

$30.00 per hour
