Job Description

Tampa Bay AC is seeking an experienced, highly motivated HVAC Technician to join our growing network. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems for our residential and commercial clients. We are looking for a self-starter who takes pride in their work, delivers excellent customer service, and operates efficiently.
Please note:
This position requires you to have your own reliable work vehicle and a complete set of standard HVAC tools. Key Responsibilities Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC equipment, including furnaces, AC units, heat pumps, and ductless mini-splits. Perform routine maintenance and seasonal tune-ups on residential and commercial systems. Install new heating, cooling, and ventilation systems. Communicate clearly and professionally with customers regarding system status, repair options, and pricing. Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts used, and time spent on each job. Adhere to all local, state, and federal HVAC codes and safety regulations.
Requirements & Qualifications Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in HVAC repair and installation.
Certifications:
Active Universal EPA Section 608 Certification.
Equipment:
Must possess a comprehensive set of professional HVAC tools (e.g., manifold gauges, vacuum pump, multimeters, standard hand tools).
Transportation:
Must have your own reliable work vehicle (truck or cargo van preferred) and a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Skills:
Strong diagnostic abilities, solid understanding of electrical and refrigeration principles, and excellent customer service skills.
Physical:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces or extreme temperatures.
Compensation Structure:
Option 1 (100% Paid Per Job)
Pay Structure:
Piece-Rate / Flat-Rate per Completed Job Under this compensation model, you maximize your earning potential on every call you take. You will be paid a highly competitive flat rate or percentage for every completed service call, maintenance visit, or installation.
High Earning Potential:
The more efficiently you work and the more assignments you take on, the higher your income.
Ultimate Flexibility:
Ideal for highly experienced technicians who want a dynamic workload and work quickly without sacrificing quality.
Compensation Structure:
Option 2 (Base Hourly + Paid Per Job)
Pay Structure:
Active Base Hourly Rate + Piece-Rate Bonuses Under this hybrid compensation model, you receive a dependable baseline income during your active assignments, with the opportunity to boost your earnings through efficiency and volume.
Stable Active Rate:
Earn a guaranteed base rate of $20/hour for all active, dispatched hours worked. This ensures stability during complex, time-consuming diagnostic calls.
Performance Upside:
Earn an additional flat rate or commission on top of your active hourly wage for every successfully completed job, installation, or up-sold service. We are a small but growing company.
