The Project Lead Installer plays a critical role in leading and executing commercial installation projects. This position is responsible for overseeing installations from start to finish, ensuring quality workmanship, safety compliance, and successful project completion while mentoring and guiding project team installers. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Lead and perform installation and activation of commercial food cooking and preparation equipment, refrigeration systems, ventilation/exhaust hoods, and HVAC systems. Coordinate and oversee removal of existing or outdated systems. Serve as the on-site lead, directing and training project team installers on proper installation techniques, equipment, and safety practices. Ensure projects are completed according to specifications, timelines, and company standards. Order, maintain, and manage tools, materials, and equipment critical to project operations. Read, interpret, and follow wiring diagrams, technical drawings, blueprints, and service manuals. Interpret technical data such as pressure, temperature, and refrigerant readings. Communicate professionally with customers, dispatchers, project managers, and manufacturer technical support. Utilize company-provided technology (tablet/iPad, email, software systems) to document work, communicate updates, and complete required reporting. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized job site at all times. Comply with all company safety policies, procedures, and drug-free workplace requirements. Work Environment Projects may take place in a variety of commercial settings, including, but not limited to:
  • Restaurants
  • Schools and universities
  • Correctional facilities
  • Processing plants
  • Supermarkets
  • Convenience stores This role requires frequent travel to job sites, and work is performed on the road.
Qualifications & Experience
Required:
  • MUST BE ABLE TO PASS A DOT PHYSICAL
  • 3-5 years of experience in the HVACR trade or commercial installation environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of HVACR systems, plumbing, and electrical components.
  • EPA Certification.
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
  • Ability to provide own hand tools.
  • Strong technical and electrical aptitude.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively lead a team.
  • Willingness to work overtime, nights, and weekends as project demands require.
Preferred:
  • Previous experience leading installation teams or projects.
  • Experience working with commercial cooking equipment and refrigeration systems.
  • Proficiency with computers, tablets, and smartphones.
Physical Requirements Ability to climb, stoop, balance, crouch, crawl, and kneel frequently. Ability to safely lift and move items weighing up to 100 lbs.
