Job Description
Position Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and dependable Certified HVAC Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate has extensive experience installing, servicing, troubleshooting, and repairing residential and commercial HVAC systems. This position requires a technician who can work independently, accurately diagnose system issues, and deliver high-quality workmanship. Applicants must possess a current EPA Universal Certification or EPA Type III Certification. Primary Responsibilities Install complete HVAC systems, including condensers, air handlers, furnaces, heat pumps, and mini-split systems Diagnose and troubleshoot heating, ventilation, and air conditioning system failures Repair or replace compressors, motors, capacitors, contactors, coils, blower assemblies, thermostats, expansion valves, and other HVAC components Perform preventive maintenance and seasonal system inspections Recover, recycle, and handle refrigerants in accordance with EPA regulations Install, modify, repair, and seal ductwork to maximize system efficiency and airflow Perform duct inspections and recommend repairs or replacements when necessary Test system performance, airflow, refrigerant charge, electrical components, and controls Read and interpret wiring diagrams, blueprints, and manufacturer specifications Ensure all installations and repairs comply with local building codes and safety regulations Maintain accurate service records and communicate repair recommendations to customers and management Keep company vehicles, tools, and equipment clean and organized Required Qualifications Current EPA Universal Certification or EPA Type III Certification (Required) Minimum of 3 years of HVAC installation and service experience Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills Experience replacing HVAC components and performing complete system installations Experience installing, repairing, and modifying ductwork Ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Ability to safely lift 75 pounds and work in attics, crawl spaces, rooftops, and confined areas Excellent customer service and communication skills Preferred Skills & Experience Experience in the following areas is highly preferred: Residential and light commercial HVAC systems Heat pump systems Split systems and package units Mini-split installation and service Gas furnace installation and repair Refrigerant leak detection and repair Duct fabrication, installation, sealing, and balancing Airflow diagnostics and static pressure testing Smart thermostat installation and programming Indoor air quality products (UV lights, air purifiers, dehumidifiers, humidifiers) Electrical troubleshooting using multimeters and diagnostic equipment Brazing, soldering, and refrigerant piping installation Sheet metal fabrication and duct modifications Experience with multiple HVAC manufacturers and equipment brands Ideal Candidate We are looking for a technician who takes pride in delivering quality work, can diagnose problems efficiently, and completes installations to the highest industry standards.
