This role involves installing, repairing, and maintaining HVAC systems across a variety of property types, ensuring optimal indoor air quality and climate control. The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive mechanical knowledge, hands-on experience in service and installation, and a strong commitment to safety and quality standards. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work with diverse HVAC equipment, including refrigeration systems, boilers, and ammonia refrigeration units, while contributing to the comfort and safety of building occupants. Responsibilities Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain HVAC systems including air conditioning units, ventilation systems, boilers, and refrigeration equipment. Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and HVAC design plans to ensure precise installation and repairs. Perform routine maintenance on mechanical systems to prevent breakdowns and extend equipment lifespan. Conduct field service operations involving appliance repair, plumbing connections, welding tasks, and equipment calibration. Diagnose electrical issues using tools such as ohmmeters; perform electrical repairs in compliance with safety standards. Maintain accurate documentation of service activities, system modifications, and repair histories. Assist in property maintenance tasks related to HVAC/R systems to ensure regulatory compliance and operational efficiency. Operate a driver or similar vehicle safely for transportation of tools and equipment to job sites. Support ammonia refrigeration systems' operation and troubleshooting when applicable. Collaborate with team members on complex projects involving HVAC design modifications or upgrades. Skills Extensive experience in construction-related HVAC installation and service technician roles. Strong mechanical knowledge with proficiency in schematics reading and interpreting technical drawings. Familiarity with HVAC design principles, refrigeration systems including ammonia refrigeration, plumbing connections, and appliance repair. Practical experience with field service operations involving equipment repair, welding, boiler maintenance, and property upkeep. Knowledge of electrical testing tools such as ohmmeters; ability to perform electrical troubleshooting safely. Ability to operate specialized tools including welding equipment; understanding of mechanical components involved in HVAC systems. Proven experience working with various types of HVAC/R equipment in commercial or industrial settings. Excellent problem-solving skills combined with attention to detail; capable of managing multiple priorities efficiently. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; commitment to safety protocols. This position is integral to maintaining the comfort standards of our facilities through expert handling of complex HVAC systems.
