Langdale Forest Products Co. Valdosta GA. Langdale Forest Products Co. is a subsidiary of The Langdale Company, a family-owned corporation that was established in 1894, that is also headquartered in Valdosta, GA and employees around 1,200 people. The Langdale Company owns approximately two dozen companies that include OSB, MDF and Molding plants and scientifically manages approximately 270,000 acres of forest land that provide raw material for its' manufacturing facilities. Job Description Electrical Technician Position Description:
Responsible for all facets of duties required of company Electrician Technicians. 1. Responsibility for all facets of dry kiln operation, including but not limited to, operation, maintenance, scheduling coordination and ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, rules and regulations. 2. Assists with after hours plant coverage, with shared responsibility with other members of Electrical department. 3. Performs and assists in the installation, maintenance, diagnosis, repair and testing of motors and related controls, variable frequency drives, PLC'S, hydraulic electrical systems, pneumatics, boiler controls; 4. Performs and assists in checking and maintaining all types of inside and outside wiring and conduits, indoor and outdoor area lighting, receptacle circuits and HVAC equipment; 5. Performs and assists in the diagnosis and repair of overhead power line equipment; 6. Performs and assists in the installation, repair, and testing of computer systems and their cables, telephone lines and other related equipment; 7 Accesses PLC data files for troubleshooting purposes; 8. Operates pneumatic hammers and trenching equipment for the construction and installation of poles and underground electrical facilities, including underground cables; 9. Operates drills, drill presses, taps and dyes, saws, and related equipment for construction of controllers and panels; operates and maintains a wide variety of pneumatic, electrical, electronic, and hydraulic tools and equipment associated with the electrical and construction trades; 10. Drives trucks, operates auxiliary equipment, and performs routine inspections of trucks and other vehicles and equipment and reports maintenance required; 11. Performs aerial line work using ladders and aerial lift equipment; 12. Performs and assists in the erecting of scaffolding; learns to and assists in the laying out of job and requisitions material; 13. Performs and assists in the reading and interpreting of electric schematics, rough sketches and blueprints and the preparation of as-built drawings; 14. Prepares a variety of basic records including work orders, vehicle inspection reports, maintenance requests, requisitions, etc; 15. Makes oral and written reports of work performed; 16. Observes safe work practices and safety precautions relevant to the work; 17. Responds to emergency situations as assigned; 18. Performs related duties as assigned; 19. Responsible for being present and on time for work.Occasional/Secondary Job Duties:
I. Estimates materials and equipment required to complete assigned tasks and picks up materials and supplies as necessary; 2. Performs any and all additional duties as may be required for the fulfillment of his responsibilities.Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 1 year of vocational training or 1 year of industrial experience
- Valid driver's license
- Certified lift operator
- Good speaking and writing skills
- 40 hours per week with additional time as necessary
- Ability to walk, stand and sit for extended periods
- Good visual and hearing skills needed
- Ability to work in all weather conditions, particularly in heat
- Ability to climb stairs and ladders
- Ability to lift a minimum of 75-100 pounds
