HVAC Service Technician

Summary We are seeking an experienced HVAC Service Technician to support service and maintenance operations on Kauai. This role focuses on diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining commercial HVAC systems ranging from 5 to 100 tons. The ideal candidate brings strong field experience, sound technical judgment, and the ability to work independently while maintaining high service standards. Key Responsibilities Service and Repair Diagnose and repair HVAC systems, including rooftop units, split systems, and packaged equipment (5-100 ton range) Perform system start-ups, shutdowns, and functional testing Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and control-related issues Preventative Maintenance Execute scheduled maintenance programs to ensure optimal system performance Inspect equipment, identify wear or potential failures, and recommend corrective actions Maintain accurate service records and documentation Customer Interaction Communicate findings and recommendations clearly with customers and internal teams Provide professional, responsive service in the field Support long-term client relationships through quality workmanship Safety and Compliance Follow all company safety protocols and applicable regulatory requirements Maintain clean and organized job sites Ensure proper handling of tools, materials, and refrigerants Qualifications Required 5-10 years of HVAC field experience Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills Experience servicing commercial HVAC systems (5-100 ton equipment) EPA Certification (Universal preferred) Valid driver's license and clean driving record Preferred Experience with building controls and automation systems Relevant certifications (NATE or equivalent) Familiarity with local codes and island-based service logistics Skills and Attributes Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Clear communication and customer service orientation Dependable, detail-oriented, and safety-focused Work Environment Primarily field-based across Kauai Work performed in commercial and industrial environments May require occasional after-hours or emergency service response Compensation and Benefits Competitive hourly wage based on experience Opportunities for overtime Benefits package (medical, retirement, and paid time off) Company vehicle or vehicle allowance (if applicable)

Pay:

$35.00 - $45.00 per hour
