Job Description

Arconic is currently in search of a Electrical Technician - HVAC to join our team in Davenport, IA. The Electrical Technician - HVAC provides technical & tactical support and leadership on planned and un-planned equipment breakdowns and outages on production centers. You will provide technical support on specialized equipment such as Liebert computer room air conditioner and York water cooled chillers. The HVAC Site Supervisor also provides assistance to Engineering on tune up, check out, and commissioning of new and revised equipment. In this role, you will: Support and maintain a safe workplace by active involvement in the safety processes and leading by example by supporting Arconic' s EHS policies and values. Provide technical & tactical support and leadership on planned and un-planned equipment breakdowns and outages on production centers; provide technical support on specialized equipment such as Direct Fire melt furnaces, Allen Bradley Programmable Controllers, RS Logics and AC/DC drives. Also provides assistance to Engineering on tune up, check out, and commissioning of new and revised equipment. Train and mentor Unit Supervisors and craftspeople, enabling continuous technical skills improvement throughout the organization. Lead the effort in development of Standard Operation Plan's, Work instruction Plan and related procedures on new and existing equipment; provide training on the procedures. Provide technical input to preventative and predictive maintenance systems. Ensure long term viability of existing equipment by recommending and implementing changes and improvements to control systems or equipment to increase equipment reliability. Lead problem solving and root cause analysis efforts, providing documentation and record retention on technical related issues. Manage HVAC critical spare parts management system. Lead the effort in development of SOP's, WIP's and related procedures on new and existing equipment; provide training on the procedures. Build weekly and daily work schedules and ordering materials for repairs/ preventive maintenance through on-site vendors. Manage Title V Air Permit requirements for the Davenport Facility and ensure refrigerant compliance per EPA Section 608. Apply the Arconic Business Systems concepts and Stability Tools into your daily activities, ensuring that critical maintenance processes are integrated into day to day operations.

This position will require the candidate to be flexible with hours, as hours for this role will be dependent on business needs but is g enerally M-F and will require off shift support as needed.
You have:
High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution Minimum of 5 years' HVAC experience in an industrial/manufacturing including experience with scroll, screw, and centrifugal compressors Universal EPA Refrigerant 608 Certification and understand the EPA refrigerant 608 guidelines. Experience with air conditioning systems up to 25 tons and water-cooled chillers up to 200 tons Ability to braze copper/ brass, use manifold gauge assemblies, use pressure/ temperature charts, recovery, charge and pull proper vacuum. Experience with subcooling, superheat Experience using Microsoft office programs. Experience leading a team. Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e., 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
Exceptional candidates also have:
Completion of a recognized HVAC apprenticeship, four years on the job training or Mechanical degree from an accredited technical college or institution Experience leading a team Experience with air conditioning systems up to 100 tons and water-cooled chillers up to 500 tons Strong ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings, troubleshoot to root cause, and implement repairs to restore flow of equipment. Process control and instrumentation principles Experience with Johnson controls Metasys HVAC Control Systems, Liebert Air Conditioning Controls Systems and/or Trane Tracer Summit and synchrony Programs Trane Tracer Summit and synchrony Programs Refrigerant Compliance manager software Be able to perform basic cooling load calculations.
