Responsibilities Assist senior technicians with installing HVAC equipment such as air conditioning units, water heaters, and refrigeration systems according to schematics and design plans Support routine maintenance tasks on HVAC systems, including filter replacements, system inspections, and troubleshooting mechanical issues Learn to interpret technical schematics, wiring diagrams, and HVAC design plans to aid in system diagnostics and repairs Participate in service calls for property maintenance and appliance repair, gaining experience in field service operations Help with plumbing connections related to HVAC such as gas and water Use tools such as ohmmeters and welding equipment to assist with electrical testing and mechanical repairs Support the repair and maintenance of refrigeration equipment, including understanding refrigerant handling procedures Skills Basic understanding of construction principles relevant to HVAC installation and maintenance Previous service technician experience or exposure to mechanical systems is advantageous Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and HVAC design documents Knowledge of plumbing systems related to heating and cooling applications Familiarity with refrigeration systems Mechanical knowledge including equipment repair, welding skills, and boiler operation experience Strong field service skills with a focus on appliance repair and property maintenance tasks Experience operating tools such as ohmmeters or other electrical testing devices Valid driver's license with a clean driving record This apprenticeship is designed for individuals passionate about building a career in HVAC.
