Job Title:
HVAC Installer Job Description This role focuses on installing HVAC units and ductwork on active construction sites, ranging from small commercial retail spaces to large multi-family residential apartment complexes. You install and fabricate sheet metal duct systems, read and interpret blueprints, and ensure accurate, high-quality completion of HVAC installations. You travel to various job sites using your own vehicle, bring basic hand tools, and work with company-provided specialty and larger tools. Responsibilities Install HVAC units and ductwork on active construction job sites for both commercial and multi-family residential projects. Perform sheet metal fabrication, including bending, cutting, and fitting ductwork to specified locations. Read and interpret blueprints to ensure accurate layout and installation of HVAC systems. Measure, cut, and assemble duct sections using tape measures, shears, drills, and other power and hand tools. Run ducts to designated locations according to project plans and specifications. Use power tools and hand tools safely and effectively to complete installations and fabrication tasks. Verify that installed systems meet quality standards and project requirements. Travel to various job sites using a personal vehicle as required by project needs. Provide and maintain basic personal tools necessary to perform daily work, while using company-provided specialty and larger tools. Work collaboratively on active construction sites, coordinating with other trades and following site safety practices. Essential Skills Proven sheet metal fabrication experience. New construction HVAC installation experience. Hands-on ductwork installation experience. Ability to read and interpret blueprints accurately. Proficiency with sheet metal work, including bending, cutting, and fitting. Experience using power tools such as drills and shears in a construction environment. Experience using hand tools commonly used in HVAC and sheet metal work. Ability to use a tape measure accurately for layout and fabrication. Capability to work safely and efficiently on active construction sites. Willingness and ability to travel to multiple job sites using a personal vehicle. Ability to provide and use basic personal tools required for HVAC installation and sheet metal work. Additional Skills & Qualifications Insulation experience is a plus. HVAC service experience is a plus. Experience working on both commercial and multi-family residential construction projects is beneficial. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Aurora, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
