HVAC Install Lead Technician Polar Vortex Heating and Cooling Chicago, IL Job Details Full-time $29 - $46 an hour 12 hours ago Benefits Cell phone reimbursement Referral program Qualifications Property maintenance Electrical systems Plumbing Driving Service technician experience Full Job Description Benefits & Perks Monthly Cell Phone Allowance Paid Time Off Up to $1,200 Sign-On Bonus Duties Install new HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and related mechanical components according to schematics and HVAC design plans Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on HVAC/R (refrigeration) systems to ensure optimal operation Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to accurately assemble and repair equipment Conduct plumbing connections, welding, and other mechanical tasks necessary for system installation or repair Use diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters to test electrical circuits and ensure proper functioning of equipment Maintain detailed records of work performed, parts used, and system specifications for each project Qualifications Proven experience in construction or service technician roles with a focus on HVAC systems or related mechanical fields Strong mechanical knowledge including refrigeration, plumbing, boiler operation, and equipment repair Ability to read schematics, HVAC design plans, and technical manuals with confidence Experience with field service work involving air conditioning units, ammonia refrigeration systems, or HVAC/R equipment Skilled in the use of diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and welding equipment for repairs and installations Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; commercial driver's license (CDL) is a plus Prior experience in appliance repair or property maintenance is advantageous Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions while maintaining safety standards Sheet metal work experience preferred Bring your construction background, mechanical aptitude, and passion for service—your next opportunity awaits!
