HVAC Mechanical Technician

Position SummaryAn established facilities services operation is seeking an experienced HVAC Mechanical Technician to support comprehensive mechanical maintenance and repair activities within a large, multi-building commercial environment. This role partners closely with building automation and controls personnel to ensure reliable, efficient HVAC operation across the campus.

Core ResponsibilitiesInspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair commercialHVAC and mechanical systems, including:

Chillers and cooling towersAir Handling Units (AHUs)Variable Air Volume (VAV) systemsPumps, fans, heat exchangers, CRUs, and split systemsPerform mechanical diagnostics, operational verification, and performance testingReplace and repair belts, motors, valves, pumps, and other mechanical componentsRecharge and service DX refrigerant systems in compliance with EPA standardsSupport HVAC system startups, shutdowns, and coordination with BAS/controls teamsMonitor equipment performance and proactively address mechanical deficienciesRespond to emergency repairs and after-hours service requests as requiredComplete daily service documentation, logs, and maintenance reportsRequired QualificationsMinimum of 5 years of hands-on commercial HVAC mechanical experienceStrong background in troubleshooting and repairing large-scale HVAC systemsMechanical Journeyman License (required)Valid EPA refrigerant handling certificationSolid understanding of mechanical room operations and hospital-grade or commercial systemsAdditional RequirementsAbility to meet background screening and credentialing requirementsThorough knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and best practicesCapable of working independently with minimal supervisionWillingness to support after-hours, on-call, or emergency work when necessaryIf you want, I can also:
