Job Description
Overview Doc's Heating & Cooling is a family-owned HVAC company built on quality workmanship, transparency, and doing what's right for the customer. We're looking for an HVAC Installer Apprentice with real, hands-on field experience who's ready to grow into a long-term career in the trades. This position is ideal for someone who has already spent time in the field and understands what it's like working in customers' homes—but wants to sharpen their skills, learn proper installation practices, and advance with a company that values doing the job right. Job Summary As an HVAC Installer Apprentice, you'll work alongside experienced technicians installing residential and light commercial HVAC systems. You'll assist with new equipment installations, maintenance tasks, and job-site preparation while continuing to build the skills needed to become a lead installer or service technician. This is not an entry-level classroom role . Candidates must have at least six months of real field experience . Trade school or college time does not count as field experience. Responsibilities Assist with installation of residential and light commercial HVAC systems Help with removal of old equipment and setup of new systems Support senior technicians during installations and repairs Perform basic maintenance tasks and system checks Maintain a clean, safe, and professional job site Learn proper installation techniques, tools, and best practices Represent Doc's Heating & Cooling professionally in customers' homes Required Qualifications Minimum 6 months of hands-on HVAC field experience (College, trade school, or classroom time does not count) Basic understanding of HVAC systems and tools Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced technicians Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Strong work ethic and positive attitude Preferred Qualifications EPA Certification (or willingness to obtain within one month of hire) Installation experience with furnaces, air conditioners, and/or heat pumps Interest in long-term growth within the HVAC trade Benefits Paid Time Off (PTO) Field Incentive Plan Health Insurance Retirement savings plan with company match On-the-job training and skill development Stable, year-round work Family-owned company with a supportive team environment Our Culture At Doc's Heating & Cooling, we focus on providing the best solution for the customer , whether that means repairing existing equipment or installing a new system when it makes sense.
