Position Overview The HVAC Lead Technician / Field Supervisor role is designed for experienced residential HVAC professionals who can lead by example both technically and professionally.
This position is responsible for:
Troubleshooting, diagnosing, servicing, and installing residential HVAC systems Supporting and mentoring junior technicians and installers Assisting with field leadership, quality control, and customer satisfaction Helping drive operational excellence within a fast-growing HVAC department We are looking for candidates who are organized, customer-focused, mechanically strong, and capable of handling both technical and leadership responsibilities in the field. Responsibilities Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain residential HVAC systems Lead and support HVAC installations, replacements, and startup procedures Identify repair vs. replacement opportunities and communicate recommendations professionally to customers Perform system maintenance, warranty work, and emergency service repairs Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to code Communicate effectively with dispatch, management, installers, and customers Support training and development of newer technicians and apprentices Maintain proper job documentation and communication on all service calls Assist in maintaining high standards for workmanship, cleanliness, and customer experience Help identify operational improvements and support department growth initiatives Desired Experience & Qualifications Minimum 5+ years of residential HVAC field experience preferred Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting ability Experience with furnaces, air conditioners, boilers, humidifiers, IAQ products, and residential comfort systems Installation experience strongly preferred Universal EPA Certification required NATE Certification a plus Valid driver's license with clean driving record Strong customer communication and relationship-building skills Leadership mindset with the ability to mentor and support less experienced technicians Ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced environment Experience with sheet metal, ductwork, airflow, and system design principles preferred Sales experience or comfort presenting repair/replacement options is a plus Physical Requirements Ability to frequently bend, kneel, twist, climb, and work in attics, crawlspaces, and rooftops Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs Comfortable working in varying weather and job site conditions What We Offer Competitive compensation package Company-provided vehicle Year-round work Paid vacation and holidays Health, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) retirement savings plan Gym membership program Advancement opportunities within a rapidly growing HVAC division Supportive team environment with leadership involvement Why Technicians Join Lindemann We are building a team of professionals who want to grow their careers, not just punch a clock.
