This role also involves mentoring junior technicians, ensuring high-quality service, and supporting project planning and execution. Key Responsibilities Install, inspect, and service HVAC systems including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and ventilation units Diagnose complex system issues and perform advanced repairs Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure system efficiency and longevity Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals Ensure compliance with safety standards, building codes, and environmental regulations Lead or assist with system design, upgrades, and retrofits Train and mentor junior technicians and apprentices Communicate with customers to explain issues, solutions, and maintenance recommendations Maintain accurate service records and documentation Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and project managers as needed Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED (technical school or HVAC certification preferred) 5-10+ years of HVAC experience EPA Section 608 Certification (required in the U.S.) Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical components, and refrigerant cycles Ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues Valid driver's license Preferred Qualifications NATE (North American Technician Excellence) certification Experience with commercial HVAC systems and controls (e.g., BAS/DDC systems) Leadership or supervisory experience OSHA safety training Key Skills Advanced troubleshooting and diagnostic skills Leadership and mentoring ability Strong communication and customer service skills Time management and organizational skills Attention to detail and safety awareness Work Environment Field-based role working in residential, commercial, or industrial settings Exposure to varying weather conditions and confined spaces Will require on-call, overtime, or weekend work Physical Requirements Ability to lift 50+ lbs Climb ladders, crawl, and work in tight or elevated spaces Prolonged standing, bending, and kneeling Job Type Full-time (40+ hours per week) Pay $27 - $38 per hour (based on experience) Commission & bonus
